Today, while walking my dogs, I realised that many people are unaware of the passion, drive, and mission we have at RDA. We could attempt to change the world quietly behind the scenes like unsung heroes, but why make our journey harder? Just as Frodo didn't reach Mordor alone—he had a fellowship supporting him—we too need a community behind us. The purpose of this article is to share our master plan, not merely in hopes of making money (though that would be nice), but to invite you to join our cause. Change is necessary, and we believe we can achieve it with your help.
Current approaches to health and wellbeing aren't working—simple as that. Despite businesses, governments, and healthcare providers loudly promoting health initiatives, they continue to push the same old strategies. Awareness isn't enough anymore; action is needed. Suicide rates are rising. Obesity costs the NHS £6 billion annually, a figure projected to increase to over £9.7 billion a year by 2050. Despite the abundance of health and wellbeing information and movements, entirely preventable issues continue to escalate.
More needs to be done.
At RDA, we've discovered a few things. We live in a society of box-tickers; governments and businesses do just enough to check off the supposed wellbeing requirements:
Free gym memberships
Chocolate every Friday
Pizza nights
Optional monthly therapist sessions
Sound familiar? While these offerings are well-intentioned, they often go unused. This leads us to our next insight: just because people have options doesn't mean they'll choose them. On average, only 15% of employees utilise workplace wellbeing programs. We believe more proactive measures are needed. Instead of merely offering services that might help, we need to educate, motivate, and collaborate with people—address individual needs and build a community focused on health.
At RDA, we want to change the game—no more box-ticking, no more complaining. We have laced up our boots and are ready to walk the walk! We can't rely on the government or others to get this done, so we're doing it ourselves.
Welcome to Phase 1.
Our first mission is simple:
To change the face of corporate wellbeing.
We're going to achieve this by helping 1,000,000 individuals become happier, healthier, and stronger. Not by just throwing them a workout and hoping for the best. No, we aim to educate and motivate each and every one of that million. Real change happens when people care, when they say no to the norm, and push the boundaries of the ordinary. Companies are slacking on wellbeing because it requires time, effort, patience, and care. At RDA, we don't slack—we care, and we'll do what it takes to make it work.
Corporate is just the beginning. Businesses have the power to change a nation; the more companies that adopt a focused wellbeing strategy, the more people are affected. We know that each member of that one million can inspire at least two more people. The growth is exponential. Once we've changed corporate culture for good, we'll help those who truly need us—the unempowered, the impoverished. Free wellbeing education, guidance, and motivation for all. Health and wellbeing have become a luxury when they should be available to anyone who needs them (which is everyone, by the way).
We are already taking steps toward that goal. We have partnered with game-changing companies that understand more needs to be done. All I ask of you is one thing: if you have read this and agree that more needs to be done, and that you or your company can play a part in making our world happier, healthier, and stronger, then contact us today. Join the movement.
With haste,
Josh Parkin
